שנה טובה! Happy New Year

Welcome to the last day of year. Tonight we start a New Year in the Jewish Calendar!

Let me update you on the Army first and then you can read some inspiration for the New Year.

Monday I went back to the Air Force base near my house to get my answer from the placement officer. Well I didn’t even talk to her again. I was just given a paper to report the next day to the Bakum (Army Placement Center). This means I’m out of the Air Force now.

Tuesday I report to the Bakum. After wondering around for the longest time to find where I need to be, I finally get there to find out that no one is in the office until after lunch. Gotta love the army and internal communication. Just after lunch though I get called into the office to meet with an Army Placement Officer. We talk about what I want to do and I list off a bunch of positions to which he responds no. I guess a lot of the cool positions/the ones I want are all determined before the one starts their service. I plead with him and try to explain what I’ve been though up until now. He says lets see what I can give you…ok. First he says a Medic course. GREAT. I respond. Ok. Then he says why not course Logistics? I ask what is it and he explains its working in storage mostly…um NO, I respond. Then he is like well thats about it right now. I said I really like the idea of being a medic. He goes to his computer and then says oh wait…You can’t, you need the highest Hebrew level…WHAT…not again… I try to beg him, but it doesn’t work. Therefore I went with another option.

On Sunday, I will have to travel to a base near Askalon (South of Tel Aviv) to speak to another type of placement officer. This officer places soldier for duties that do not require extra training. There might be some jobs I could get lucky with but mostly these are jobs that are in need and no one wants…ie Cook, Driver, shop sales, cleaner, bitches…more or less. AHAHAHA how frustrating. Well I have some ideas building up and maybe a big decision that will surprise everyone. I don’t want to tell anyone yet, so if it happens you will know at that time.

Well now I have off until sunday to enjoy the Holiday, family, and friends. Plus I get to go to a concert on Friday! I wish everyone a very Sweet and Happy New Year, I recommend everyone to read on what I have to say in my Inspiration chapter of the blog on this holiday. שנה טובה
